Membership Rewards

Being a Kiwanian means you are an energetic individual who is focused on the health of the community ... and our club. Our Executive structure is as follows:

 

Board of Directors (comprised of 11 elected members):

  • Executive: President, Past President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary
  • Directors: 6 in total

Committees (comprised of directors and/or members):  Fundraising, Hands-on Projects, Kiwanis Park, Membership, Programming, Public Services 

 


Board of Directors

President

  • Attend/lead monthly Board meetings
  • Attend/lead monthly club meetings
  • Encouraged to attend inter-club, divisional, and regional meetings/conferences

Past President

  • Attend monthly Board meetings
  • Provide counsel to President
  • Nominate incoming Board of Directors
  • Member of the Foundation Committee (below)

Vice President/President-Elect

  • Attend monthly Board meetings
  • Perform Presidential duties in the absence of the President

Treasurer

  • Attend monthly Board meetings
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly financial statements
  • Monitor club funds, issue cheques as necessary
  • Arrange annual financial review, present to Board, deliver to Corporations Branch to maintain Club registration
  • Manage Club Foundation - collect donations, issue tax receipts, prepare and submit annual report to Revenue Canada
  • Request annual dues from members, pay annual dues to Kiwanis
  • Jointly with Secretary, manage all correspondence, prepare publications,
  • Member of the Foundation Committee (below)

Secretary

  • Attend/record agenda/minutes for monthly Board meetings
  • Prepare monthly/annual club service report (online) for Kiwanis International, with copies to district governor & Lt. Governor
  • Report new/resigning/passing members to District and International
  • Prepare and submit annual report to Corporations Branch
  • Correspondence to individuals/groups who request support
  • Pick up mail at post office each week; distribute financial material to Treasurer, requests for funding to appropriate committee(s)
  • Maintain/circulate club roster
  • Retain records, club seal, etc.

Fundraising

Mandate

  • Review existing fundraising efforts
  • Direct the Executive to potential new fundraising activities
  • Hand off fundraising projects to Public Service committee

Goals

  • Find the most efficient balance of resource allocation with funds raised 
  • Gain additional exposure for Kiwanis

Membership

Mandate

  • Recruitment, orientation and engagement of new members
  • Manage induction ceremonies
  • Distribute new member kits

Goals

  • Grow the club by 25% per year
  • Invite newest members to welcome banquet funded by Kiwanis

Public Service

Mandate

  • Uphold the spirit of Kiwanis by activating Kiwanians in the community
  • Locate projects that give the highest benefit to the community
  • Review applications for support/funding from groups/individals, make recommendations to Executive

Goals

  • Maintain longstanding projects as a way to engage new members
  • One hands-on project per quarter

Programming

Mandate

  • Cultivate ideas from members of the most insightful speakers for lunch meetings
  • Maintain relationship with meeting/lunch venue
  • Communicate with funding recipients/beneficiaries and invite them to report on how Kiwanis helped them
  • Organize Events: Christmas party, Valentine's Day party, Past Presidents' Ball (every 3 yrs), Golf Tournament

  • One speaker per meeting/month

Kiwanis Park

Mandate

  • Manage funding & operations of Kiwanis Park between the 3 Kiwanis clubs in Regina
  • Serve as a conduit for communication between the 3 clubs

Requirement

  • Quarterly meetings on Saturday at 8:00A.M.

Goals

  • As agreed upon by 3 clubs
